Question about those cheap digital calipers from the online marketplace
I lost a whole afternoon and a $120 aluminum blank because the battery died mid-measure and it reset to zero. Anyone have a brand they trust that won't ghost you like that?

That "ghost you" feeling hits hard. I've had the same thing happen with cheap kitchen scales when baking, just resets to zero halfway through adding flour. It's like we're surrounded by tools that forget their job the second they get a little low on power. Makes you wonder if saving twenty bucks is worth losing a whole project. What did you end up doing with the ruined blank?

My old car radio used to do that, just cut out when the battery got low. It's frustrating how many devices fail in the worst way possible. Makes you appreciate the simple stuff that just works.
