My dad called mammatus clouds ugly, but I think he's just jealous of their drama.
We had a full-blown argument over it at the family BBQ, and now everyone's picking sides.

Honestly, fighting about clouds at a BBQ is the most normal family thing ever. Mammatus clouds are basically nature showing off, so I get why your dad feels threatened. Tell him to save his anger for something real, like burnt burgers.

Tbh the meteorology textbook move is a classic power play. I've found the best way to shut those down is to ask for a simple weather forecast using the book. They never actually know how to do it.
