It HIT me yesterday that the afternoon thunderheads are building up WAY earlier in the season now.

Last Thursday in Sedona, the sky was already getting dark by noon. I mean, it's wild how early these thunderheads are showing up now. I remember years ago when we wouldn't see them build until well after 3 PM in mid-July. Now I have to check the radar before even thinking about a late lunch outside. Idk, maybe it's just me but the whole rhythm of the season feels off. It's like summer starts with a bang instead of easing into it.

I saw in the Arizona Republic they're tracking monsoon start dates moving up by almost two weeks over the last decade. Makes your lunch radar check totally logical now, doesn't it?

Easing into it" feels like a memory thing... I swear the storms always came early when I was a kid too. Just seems more noticeable now because we're all watching the weather apps.
