Finally caught a lenticular cloud over Mt. Hood last Saturday
I've been driving out to the Hood River area for months trying to see one of those lens-shaped clouds and last weekend it finally happened. The air was super still and the cloud was sitting right on the summit like a giant flying saucer, almost too perfect to be real. It stayed for about 20 minutes before the wind shredded it into these thin streaks. Do lenticular clouds usually stick around that long or did I just get lucky with the conditions?
