Question about the heat pump I just installed
I finally bit the bullet and spent about $4,500 on a ductless mini-split heat pump for my 900 sq ft ranch house in upstate New York. My oil furnace was eating me alive during the winter months, like $400 a month easily on fill-ups. But here's the thing - I'm three weeks in and my electric bill only went up about $60, so it's looking like a solid choice so far. The install was a pain though, had to cut through a thick plaster wall and run the line set around a bathroom window. I'm curious if anyone else has seen big savings in a cold climate with one of these units, especially when temps drop below 20 degrees?

Wait till you hit single digits, that $60 savings might vanish fast.
