PSA: My neighbor's AC unit made me rage last night

Heard it kick on at 2 AM. 72 degrees inside while I was sweating. He runs it every night, all summer. That old R22 system must be dumping tons of refrigerant. How do you even bring this up without starting a feud?

Heard a buddy of mine had this same problem last year with his neighbor over a window unit. He left a note saying it was messing with his sleep and offered to split the cost of a newer quieter model, and they ended up cool with it. Could be worth trying that route before assuming it'll blow up into a feud.

Why is it his problem that you don't have your own AC or a fan? 72 is totally fine for summer, you're being dramatic.
