Watching the Great Barrier Reef lose its color in 2012 was my final push to go back to school for marine biology.

That's a way better reason than mine, @nancybennett. I saw a sad-looking clownfish at a bad pet store and almost signed up for community college. The bleaching events are just brutal to watch, like watching a city turn off its lights one neighborhood at a time. My clownfish guilt lasted a weekend, but your story is the real deal.
