Unpopular opinion: Lakewood's new parking rules are gonna kill small businesses on Detroit Ave

I was down at Around the Corner last Thursday grabbing a burger and watched three cars circle for 15 minutes before giving up and leaving because the new 2 hour limit kicked in at 6pm. How are shops supposed to survive when people can't even sit down for a proper dinner without worrying about a ticket?

My buddy's pizza shop in Rocky River survived this by adding a loyalty app with time stamps.

Man, I swear I heard a city council rep on the radio last week say they were testing a "dynamic pricing" parking meter system in Lakewood to encourage turnover. But then they turned around and said the 2 hour limit was needed to stop commuters from hogging spots all day. It's like they don't get that someone grabbing a beer and a burger at Around the Corner is not the same as a commuter leaving their car for 8 hours. That spot my friend tried to take was probably empty for an hour after those cars left.
