Rant: power went out in Rocky River for 9 hours on the coldest night of the year
Last Thursday our block near Detroit Road lost power around 6pm and it didn't come back until almost 3am. We have a gas fireplace so we camped out in the living room with the kids and played cards by candlelight, which was fun for about an hour. By hour four the house was down to 51 degrees and I was googling hotel rooms in Westlake just to have a backup plan. Turns out a transformer blew two streets over, and the line crew had to wait on a part from a depot in Elyria. Anyone else on the west side keep a generator just for nights like that, or am I overreacting?
