Just walked through the new Metroparks section near Rocky River

They added a whole boardwalk through the wetlands off the main trail, and I saw a pair of blue herons standing right next to the path - has anyone else spotted more wildlife out there since they opened it last month?

Actually those are great blue herons, not just blue herons. There is a difference, even though people use them the same way. Great blues are the big ones you see standing like statues in the water, and they've been nesting along the Rocky River for years now. The new boardwalk definitely gives you a closer look at them and the egrets that have been showing up more lately. Have you seen any kingfishers diving near the boardwalk yet? They've been pretty active in the early mornings.
