So I dropped $80 on a 'chimney snake' camera attachment

Thought it would save me time on inspections, but the first time I used it, the homeowner's cat attacked the screen thinking it was a real snake. The cat knocked my tablet right off the ladder. Anyone have a less exciting way to check for flue cracks?

Oh man, that cat story is brutal but also kinda hilarious. I've been there with tech that sounded great on paper but turned into a disaster. What really helped me out was just getting a simple telescoping mirror and a high powered flashlight. You don't get a video feed or anything fancy, but you can see cracks and buildup pretty clear if you angle it right. Plus no animals try to fight your gear that way. Might be worth trying before shelling out for a different expensive gadget.

My cat would do the exact same thing.

Would do the exact same thing" makes it sound like a planned attack. In my experience, cats just knock stuff over because they don't care. It's probably not that deep.
