DAE hit 500 flue liners replaced and feel weird about it?

On one hand, it's a solid number that shows a lot of experience... but on the other, it makes me think about all the chimneys that were in such bad shape. My first one was a cracked clay liner in a 1920s house. Do you ever get hung up on the 'why' behind the big numbers?

Actually, I've found that feeling means you're doing the job right (you know, caring about the work).

Man, I totally get that. I used to just see it as a job count, you know? But after a while, you start seeing the same scary stuff over and over, like those old liners just crumbling to dust. It really makes you think about how many people are living with a hidden danger right over their heads. Does that feeling ever go away for you?
