Spent $9.50 on a battery pack for a picnic and it was the best money I ever blew
Last weekend my girlfriend and I did a picnic at the lakefront near our apartment and I grabbed a $9.50 portable charger from the checkout line at the grocery store on a total whim. We usually end up leaving early because one of our phones dies while we're playing music or taking pictures, and this little thing kept us out there for almost three hours past sunset. It was honestly the cheapest part of the whole date, way less than the sandwiches and the cheap wine we brought. Now I'm wondering if I should grab a second one so we both have our own, or if that's just me overthinking a nine dollar gadget. Does anyone else have a small purchase like that which totally changed how long your cheap dates last?
Get the second one, you won't regret it. We keep two in our picnic bag now and it solved the whole "who gets to charge first" thing before it even starts. One charges the speaker while the other tops up a phone, and we just swap them out when they die. The cheap grocery store ones usually only hold one full phone charge anyway, so having a backup means you're set for a whole afternoon. Nine bucks to skip the dead phone drama is a steal.
