Found out the art museum near me is free every first Friday and I've been paying $18 for 4 months
I was killing time at the Chicago Art Institute last week and overheard a guy at the coat check say the whole place is free on the first Friday of every month. I did the math and that's about $72 I handed over since spring for dates that could've cost nothing. So what's the deal with your city, is there a free night or a cheap day I should know about that I'm missing?

I always figured free museum days were packed with school groups and not worth the hassle, but $72 is $72 and now I'm rethinking that. Turns out the Field Museum here does free days for Illinois residents too, so I've been missing out on way more than just the art place.
