My vet tech friend said skip the $40 cat photo book and get the $12 one at the shelter gift shop, she was wrong about which photos matter
She told me Shelter Cats: Portraits from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter had better candid shots than the fancy hardcover I'd been eyeing, so I bought it for my coffee table. Turns out half the pages are adoption stats and thank-you lists, not photos, and guests keep picking it up and putting it right back down. Does anyone have a cat table book that actually gets flipped through at parties?

Did you flip through it before buying? I made that mistake once with a shelter book too, cover looked great but inside was donor names and intake charts. What worked for me was hitting a used book store and grabbing a big hardcover of just cat portraits, no text pages at all, and that thing actually gets passed around when people come over. Check the clearance table at Half Price Books or similar, you can get a thick photo-only book for like 8 bucks.
