Watched a stray cat at a Boston bus stop do the slow blink at a stranger, and I finally get why it works
I was waiting for the 7:15 bus on Mass Ave in Cambridge and saw this orange tabby lock eyes with a guy in a suit who was clearly stressed out. The cat did three slow blinks in a row, and within 20 seconds the guy was crouched down and petting it like they were old friends. Is the slow blink actually a trust thing with cats, or does it just chill people out enough to change the whole vibe?
