PSA: Your cat isn't ignoring you, it's just slow blinking.
People keep thinking a cat looking away is rude. It's actually a sign of trust. My cat Mittens does it every time I get home from my shift at the hardware store. Anyone else's cat do this?

Oh totally, it's the best feeling. My big orange boy, Gus, does this slow blink thing when he's all curled up on the couch. I'll catch his eye and he just slowly closes his eyes and opens them, like he's saying he's chill and safe with me. I started doing it back at him and now it's like our little weird greeting. Makes me feel like we actually get each other.
