Why does nobody mention that budget airlines weigh your personal item at the gate in Dublin?
Flew Ryanair out of Dublin last month and watched a guy get charged 60 euros at the gate because his backpack was 8.5kg instead of the 10kg cabin limit he'd paid for. What got me is that the gate agent had a little portable scale she rolled right up to the boarding line, not the check-in desk like I expected. I'd packed assuming nobody checks past security, and I was dead wrong. Now I stuff my heavy stuff in a vest with big pockets before I get to the gate, anyone else have tricks for dodging those last minute weigh-ins?
