Actually, it's tack strip, not tack strips. That extra S is a common mistake.

Hold up, I gotta disagree on this one. I hear both terms used all the time by installers. If someone asks for tack strips, they're talking about the multiple pieces needed for a room. Saying "tack strip" for a single piece makes sense, but ordering a box of "tack strips" is totally normal. Language is flexible like that lol.
