I switched from a standard seam roller to a heated one for a big job in Boise
I was doing a 2,500 square foot office install last month with a lot of long seams in a tight loop pile. My old roller just wasn't getting the adhesive to flow right, and I was worried about seam peaking later. The heated roller, which I rented for about $75 for the day, made the glue tack up perfectly and sealed those edges down flat. The difference in the seam quality was night and day, and it saved me a ton of time on re-tacking. Has anyone else found a specific tool that made a tough job way easier?

Heated seam roller for the win. I had the same fight with some commercial glue-down last year, spent more time babysitting seams than actually laying carpet. My old roller just pushed the carpet around like it was annoyed to be there. That rental fee sounds a lot better than the cost of a callback to fix a peaked seam. Some tools are just worth the hassle.

Right tool for the job always beats fighting it, @hugo645.
