Hot take: i swore by power stretchers for years but now i think kneekickers are better for most residential jobs

After I did a 15x20 living room in Phoenix last month where the power stretcher kept slipping on tile edges and I switched to a kneekicker halfway through, the carpet laid way flatter with zero ripples, has anyone else had better luck with kneekickers on rooms under 300 square feet?

My neighbor laid carpet in a 12x12 bedroom last week with just a kneekicker and it came out perfect on the first try. The power stretcher would have been overkill for that small space anyway. I stick with the kneekicker for anything under 300 feet these days.

power stretcher kept slipping on tile" - yeah that's the whole problem right there. Kneekicker grips way better on hard floors under 300 sq ft.
