Honestly, I think the push for 100% seam sealing on every job is overkill

Last week in a Phoenix condo, I skipped the seam sealer on a tight hallway run with a dense loop pile, just used a hot iron and good pressure. The client called yesterday saying it's holding perfect, no issues at all. When did we decide every single seam absolutely needs that extra step?

Been there. Some of these new carpets have such tight loops and good backing, the heat alone makes a solid bond. I had a commercial job with that dense berber stuff, skipped the sealer on maybe a dozen seams in a low-traffic area. Three years later, the boss calls me back for another thing and I checked, still flat as a board. The old rulebook needs an update for modern materials.

Guess I've been wasting half my Saturday mornings wrestling with that stupid seam sealer tube then lol. My last job looked like a glitter bomb went off after I used too much, had to spend an hour picking little dried bits out of the carpet. Maybe the real trick is just knowing when you can get away with skipping it.
