Found a faster way to seam tape in tight corners last month
I was working a master bedroom in Phoenix last week and kept fighting with seam tape pulling up on a tricky L-shaped closet. After the third try I switched to using a heat gun on low instead of my iron and it stuck way better in that tight spot. Has anyone else tried different heat methods for seams in narrow spaces?

Val's right about the scorching, but what about holding the gun farther back and moving it slower? Did you try a teflon sheet between the gun and tape for any extra protection?

Respectfully, I've had the opposite experience with heat guns on tight corners - they tend to scorch the backing if you're not careful. Have you tried a smaller iron with a pointed tip? That's what I use in tight spots and it works great without the burn risk.
