Finally bought a good framing nailer after fighting with a junky one for 8 months

Spent $380 on a new nailer after my old one kept jamming on a deck job, and it cut my framing time by almost half. Has anyone else had a tool that just made them mad every time they used it?

The real killer with a jam-happy nailer isn't just the lost time, it's the cumulative damage to your framing lumber. A bad nailer that sinks a fastener crooked or too deep means you're either pulling nails or sistering studs on a load bearing wall. That $380 is cheap insurance when you factor in not having to replace a bunch of 2x6s that got chewed up by a junk gun.

Right? Nothing makes you question life choices faster than watching a $99 special wreck a stud you just got perfectly plumb. Then you're standing there with a cat's paw and a sledgehammer feeling like a caveman while the good crew with the nicer gun has already moved on to the next wall. It's like paying for an expensive haircut, you get what you pay for and a bad one costs more in the long run. But hey, at least the junk gun gave me a good arm workout from all the nail pulling. Totally worth the shoulder pain to save a hundred bucks upfront.
