Cheap dado stack wrecked 40 board feet of walnut

Bought a $35 dado stack off Amazon last month. First cut on my new walnut table top and it chattered so bad I ruined the whole piece. Anyone else had a cheap set blow up a project like that?

OH MAN that's SO infuriating, cheap blades ALWAYS cost you way more in ruined wood.

Used to be that guy who grabbed the cheapest pack at the hardware store and thought I was saving money. Watching a blade burn through the end grain on a project I spent hours on really changed my perspective. Idk, sometimes you just have to learn the hard way that good tools are worth it.

Totally with you @laura_knight54. I tried a cheap blade once and it chattered so bad on some oak I was cutting that I had to scrap the whole piece. Learned that lesson the expensive way.
