Serious question, has anyone else waited years for a promotion only to realize it was worth it?
I used to get really frustrated when promotions at my job took forever to come through. But after seeing how the extra time let me build stronger skills and relationships, I finally see the value in waiting. What's a career move that felt slow but paid off for you in the end?

What helped you stick it out for so long?

See that sticking with it often links to daily habits. Your mileage may vary, but that's a pattern I notice everywhere.

Yeah, that "mileage may vary" part is key. For me, it clicked when I stopped trying to make the habit a big deal. I just tied it to something I already do every day, like brushing my teeth. Doing a tiny, no excuse version of the thing for two minutes made it stick because it felt too silly to skip. The small win each day built up the proof I could do it, which mattered more than motivation.
