My new camp chair folded up on me like a cheap lawn ornament

I was just sitting down to eat some chili by the fire up near Lake Tahoe last weekend. The chair was maybe two months old, a basic model I got for about $35. I leaned back to grab my drink off the cooler and the whole thing just collapsed, dumping me right into the dirt. My friend just looked over and said, 'Well, that's one way to get a ground score.' Had to eat the rest of my meal sitting on a log. Anyone have a chair they've actually put some weight on that didn't turn into a trap?

My buddy Steve had a similar thing happen with a chair from a big box store. He was at a barbecue in his own backyard, just leaning back to watch the grill. The leg snapped clean off and he went down hard, spilling his plate all over the patio. He ended up with a nasty bruise on his hip that lasted for weeks. After that he swore off anything with thin aluminum legs and only buys the heavy steel frame kind now.

Wait, Steve's chair broke in his own BACKYARD? That's just insulting. @patricia_rodriguez, you gotta pay extra just to not eat dirt at home now.
