The binder clip trick I stole from a guy at my gym in Dayton 3 weeks back
I was complaining to a guy at my gym in Dayton about the mess of cords under my desk at home, and he told me to just use binder clips clipped to the back edge of the desk. I tried it 3 weeks back with a pack of 12 clips I had in a junk drawer, and now every cord runs down its own clip instead of a tangled pile on the floor. Cost me nothing and took maybe 8 minutes total, way less hassle than the adhesive clips I'd bought before that kept falling off. Two of the clips popped off when I yanked my laptop charger too hard, so I doubled them up on the heavier cords and that fixed it. Has anyone found a clip that holds thick power bricks better, or am I stuck using the double clip setup?
My desk setup was such a disaster before this that I once lost a USB drive in the cord pile for two months, so trust me, binder clips are a huge step up. For thick power bricks, I've had good luck with the medium size clips that have the wider jaws, since the small ones just give up and fly across the room. Doubling up works fine too, just looks a little silly when your desk has more clips than an office supply store.
