Just realized the $18 rubber grommet kit I skipped is why my HDMI cable died at 8 months
I ran a 15 foot HDMI cable through a hole I drilled in my desk with no grommet, and the raw wood edge slowly sawed through the shielding. The cable started flickering during meetings and finally quit around month 8, and a new one set me back $32 plus an hour of crawling under the desk at 10pm. The grommet kit was $18 at Harbor Freight for like 40 pieces, which is way less than replacing cables every year. Has anyone else had a sharp desk hole chew through a cord, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?
