Shoutout to the crew in Tulsa who talked me into pre-making my drip loops
I used to think pre-making drip loops was a waste of time, I mean why do something twice when you can just do it once at the house, right? Then last month I got put on a 12 unit apartment complex in Tulsa and the guy training me, Marcus, made me build 12 loops at the shop before we even left. I felt dumb standing there with my coax cutter while he sipped his coffee, but we knocked out the whole building in about 4 hours with zero callbacks. My normal pace on a place that size is closer to 7 hours and I usually get at least one truck roll to fix a fitting I rushed. The difference was I was crimping at a bench with good light instead of crouched behind a washer in a dark closet. Even the slack on the wall plates looked cleaner because I wasn't fighting the loop while mounting the plate. Marcus just shrugged and said he stole the idea from a guy in OKC years ago. Any of you pre-build loops or do you think it's overkill on small jobs?
