Fishing rods backwards for 15 years, a 7 year old taught me
I always pushed the fish tape from the bottom up in 2 story houses, thought that was the only way. Then a neighbor kid watched me struggle and said why don't you just drop it from the attic, seemed so simple. Has anyone else had a basic trick slip past them for way too long?
Take that lesson and run with it. Kids don't have all the bad habits we build up over years of doing things the hard way. I spent a decade wiring through crawl spaces when I could've just dropped lines from the top and saved my back. Now I always ask myself if there's a simpler angle before I start wrestling with something. That kid probably saved you more than a little frustration, you just didn't know it yet.
