Finally figured out why my coax runs kept failing after a few months
I kept having to go back to the same apartment complex in Denver because the signal would drop, and it turned out the other guys were using the wrong compression rings for the fittings. I switched to the exact match for the brand of cable and haven't had a single callback in six months. What's the one little thing you see people mess up that causes the most headaches later?

Compression rings are basically all the same though.

My buddy learned the hard way that @reese_chen is off base. He bought the cheapest rings for his rebuild. They looked fine, but they were brittle. One cracked during install, another shattered under heat. He had to tear the whole thing down again after fifty miles because they wouldn't seal. That was a very expensive lesson in material quality.

Actually read a tech article that said material quality varies wildly between brands.
