TIL those magnetic drawer catches actually work pretty well

I was putting together a built-in for a client in Springfield and they really wanted soft-close on everything, even the small spice drawers. I figured those little magnetic push-to-open catches would be weak and fail fast. I put a set on a scrap box first, just to test, and after about 50 opens and closes it still snapped shut solid every time. What finally sold me was when my kid, who's three, couldn't pull the drawer open by himself but could push it closed. Anyone have a brand they like for these, or are they all about the same?

Yeah, I was totally wrong about those things too... thought they'd be a total gimmick. The kid test is actually a pretty solid way to check, that's smart. I should probably admit when I'm wrong more often.

Honestly @leo603, admitting you're wrong gets way easier after the first few times.
