A client told me my drawer slides were too loud and it changed everything

They said they could hear the drawers from the next room over. I switched from side-mount to soft-close undermount slides on that job and haven't looked back. Anyone else had a customer call out something small that made you rethink your go-to hardware?

Picked up on a client once who complained the soft close on their cabinets was still too loud - they wanted it dead silent. Made me realize even the "quiet" stuff can miss the mark if you don't match it to the actual room layout or wall thickness. I started paying way more attention to how noise travels through framing, not just the hardware specs. Now I always test drawer slides in the actual install space before finishing, especially if it's an open floor plan or thin walls. Totally changed how I pick my gear for every job since.
