My meat scale was lying to me for 6 months
So I run a small shop over near Rockford and I always thought my portions were spot on. Then a buddy who does health inspections stops by and notices my scale is off by about 3 ounces on the high side. That means every pack of steaks I weighed out was heavier than what I charged for. Over half a year that adds up to a lot of free meat, probably close to $400 in lost product. Turns out the scale had a bent load cell from when I dropped a frozen brisket on it back in November. I never even thought about calibrating it because it powered on and gave a number every time. Anyone else ever had a scale go bad slowly without you noticing? I'm curious how you all catch that before my dumb luck did.
