Watched a girl at the Portland pen meet swap her ruler for a stencil and it changed my whole setup
I went to the Rose City Pen Club meetup last Saturday at the library on 10th and this girl next to me was setting up her January spread without any ruler at all. She just used a little plastic stencil she got for $3 to make her habit tracker boxes, and her lines looked cleaner than mine ever do. I always thought stencils were a beginner thing and real journalers freehand or use a ruler, but watching her knock out a full weekly log in like 8 minutes made me rethink that. I bought the same stencil on Sunday and my layouts have been straight every time since. Does anyone else use stencils for their box grids, or am I late to something everyone already knew about?
