Keep a solar charger for your phone, that way you can still use the flashlight and check the journal at night lol

Good point, but solar chargers need light to work. If it's already night, you're out of luck. A small power bank is better for that.

My old Moleskine notebook was a lifesaver during Hurricane Sandy. I wrote down all the emergency numbers and kept a log of when the food in the fridge went bad. It's way more reliable than a phone that can die.
