Cash systems feel so painful when you first start them, like you're putting yourself in time out. Watching that envelope fill up for something fun makes the wait worth it though. My old rain jacket was a budget victory that still makes me smile. That smug feeling is the best reward.

Did you ever think your scoffing would actually pay off? Cash budgets are the boring adult version of magic beans. Now you can camp while feeling smug about being right all along. Bet you won't laugh at envelope systems again. Just don't let your past self know, or they might stop spending.
