Trying to batch cook messed up my food budget

I hear all the time that cooking in large amounts is a sure way to save. But for me, it did the opposite. I cooked a big pot of soup for the whole week. After a few days, I was so sick of it that I ordered pizza. That added up fast. Now I cook smaller meals more often, and my spending is under control. Maybe batch cooking works for some, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Freezing part of your batch can prevent takeout urges.

My buddy Mark froze a whole lasagna last month and it totally saved him when his car broke down and he had no cash for delivery.

Yeah @garcia.kelly that actually works for me. I'll freeze a few portions and honestly forget they're there. Then it's like a free meal later.
