Stopped at a gas station in Flagstaff and the price difference from Phoenix was huge...
Paid almost 50 cents less per gallon, which saved me over $15 filling the tank. Anyone else notice wild price swings on road trips lately?

Yeah, I saw something about that "wild price swings" thing on the news last week. They were talking about how stations near highways or in tourist spots, like Flagstaff, sometimes have way different taxes or just charge more because they can. I filled up in some tiny town off I-10 once and it was like a dollar cheaper than in the city. Makes you want to plan your stops, but who has time for that.

Isn't it crazy how that's true for almost everything now? It's not just gas, it's like a bottle of water at the airport or a snack at the movie theater. Feels like the price is just based on where you're stuck needing it, not what it actually costs. Makes you wonder if you're ever paying a fair price or just a convenience tax.

That's a solid point from @angelacooper about highway towns. I always check the GasBuddy app before a long exit. It takes two seconds and has saved me a ton over the years.
