Pro tip: Use a local SIM card for data, it's way cheaper than roaming

Honestly, I was in Lisbon last week and my phone bill from roaming was looking scary. I bought a local SIM card from a shop called MEO for 15 euros. It gave me 10GB of data for a whole month, which was more than enough. Has anyone found a good SIM card deal in other parts of Europe?

Roaming's just easier sometimes, ngl.

Easier maybe, but not better in my book, @caseywest. I always feel like I'm getting ripped off on data speed when I'm roaming. It's fine for checking a map, but trying to do anything real is a pain. I'd rather just grab a local SIM card and have full service without the crazy bill later.

Honestly I felt the same until my last trip got hit with insane roaming fees.
