Just got back from Lisbon and their tap water is totally fine to drink
Ngl, I was buying bottled water for two days before a local told me to just use the tap and saved me like 40 euros. Anyone else find a simple money saver like that in a city?

Ever think about the plastic waste from all those tourist water bottles? That local did you a solid saving cash, but they also saved like twenty plastic bottles from getting tossed. Feels like a double win when you realize you're not adding to the trash pile in a place you're just visiting.

My buddy @aaronowens actually had a similar moment in Thailand last year. He bought a cheap reusable bottle from a 7-Eleven on day one and ended up refilling it at hostel sinks and public water stations the whole trip. He still talks about how much plastic he saved versus the other tourists buying packs of water bottles every day.

Honestly, most of Western Europe has perfectly safe tap water. The only place I ever had an issue was in some really old buildings with questionable pipes. You just have to get over the mental block.
