A hostel manager in Lisbon called me out for my 'perfect' packing list

He saw my tiny bag and said 'You packed for a vacation, not for travel. You need a sink plug and a universal adapter, not three shirts.' I felt silly, but he was right. I spent 15 euros on those two things and did laundry in my room for a week, saving a ton on baggage fees. Anyone have other small items that turned out to be huge for saving cash?

That manager's advice is solid, but honestly, I just pack extra socks. Clean shirts are one thing, but wet feet will ruin a trip faster than anything.
