The day my cheap bag of rice saved dinner
Was making a big pot of chili in my apartment kitchen, realized I was out of ground beef with no cash left for the week. Grabbed a bag of brown rice I got for $1.50 at the Food4Less on 8th Street. Threw in two cups with extra beans and broth, stretched it to feed four people. Anyone else have a pantry staple that bailed them out like that?

My buddy did that with a can of corn last week.

Wait, did he actually open the can first or just yeet the whole thing? Lol my roommate did something similar with a can of baked beans except he was trying to see if it would spin like a top on the kitchen floor. It did NOT go well. Beans everywhere, we were finding dried up bean juice on the ceiling for weeks. The corn thing makes me laugh though because at least corn kernels don't stick to everything like bean paste does. Honestly I feel like canned food pranks are way underrated, you can get a lot of mileage out of a 79 cent can of veggies. Your buddy sounds like a legend honestly.

But why would you waste a whole can of corn? That stuff is actually pretty good heated up with some butter. Seems like a messy joke when you could just have a snack instead.
