Why does nobody mention how much EVA foam can swell in humid air?

I measured my Minecraft sword at 34 inches before starting, then after a week of 80% humidity in my basement it stretched to 37 inches and now it won't fit in my display case, has anyone else dealt with foam warping like this?

Oh man, 34 to 37 inches? That's basically a growth spurt I had in 8th grade but way more annoying." I totally feel your pain on the foam swelling thing though, it's like the humidity has a personal vendetta against your display case.

Ngl, I gotta disagree with you @claire_campbell, I think that's less about humidity and more about you probably not letting the foam fully cure before you sealed it. Honestly, I've had foam sit in way worse conditions and only get maybe an inch of stretch, not three.
