Wasted $60 on a 'pre-made' foam armor set that was basically garbage
I bought this EVA foam armor kit on Etsy for $60 because I didn't trust myself to cut the templates right for my first Mandalorian cosplay... big mistake. The pieces were cut unevenly, the seams didn't line up at all, and the foam was this super cheap stuff that started peeling after one day of gluing. I spent another $15 on contact cement trying to fix the gaps and it just made a mess. Whole thing ended up in the trash after I spent like ten hours sanding and it still looked lumpy. Now I'm back to tracing my own patterns from free PDFs and it's actually way easier and cheaper. Anyone else get burned by those pre-cut kits?

Oh man, that stings. $60 for glorified trash plus another $15 for contact cement that just made it worse? That's a special kind of pain. I'd be so mad I'd probably just glue the whole mess to a mannequin and call it a "post-apocalyptic scrap pile" cosplay as a joke. At least you found out that the free PDF route is actually way more forgiving, right? What's the worst thing you've ever bought for a build that looked nothing like the listing photos?
