Shoutout to the dollar store foam board that fixed my Mandalorian helmet

Everyone says you need EVA foam for armor but I built my whole Mandalorian helmet from 3 sheets of dollar store foam board and a $4 can of plasti dip. First try looked like a sad cereal box, but after two more rebuilds with hot glue and a heat gun it actually holds shape. What is your go to cheap material for helmets that does not fall apart at a con?
