Made a decent Iron Man helmet out of a dollar store plastic bowl and some craft foam

I needed a cheap helmet for a con next month and found a 99 cent mixing bowl that fit my head perfectly, cut a face opening and glued on foam pieces. Total cost was about 4 bucks and it actually looks recognizable in photos.

I read somewhere that the Trickster from Dead by Daylight started as a similar budget build and now he's a whole character. That bowl shape actually looks like it could pass for a cyberpunk or steampunk helmet if you painted it right. The key is getting the face opening angle right so it doesn't look like a bowl, and it sounds like you nailed that part for only 4 bucks. I've seen people try this with cardboard and it always looks way worse than craft foam.

$4 on a hallway bowl and calling it cosplay is pretty funny to me. But if you're just messing around for a con or a party, who cares if it's serious, right? I mean, @nathan_moore12, comparing it to the Trickster's origins is kind of a stretch, but people put way too much thought into this stuff sometimes.
