Had to choose between foam clay or craft foam for my armor piece
I was building a shoulder pauldron for a fantasy knight cosplay and had $15 left in my budget. I picked the craft foam because I already had a heat gun and glue, and honestly, it worked out great after I sealed it with three coats of mod podge. Has anyone else used craft foam for armor and found a better sealant?

Plastidip spray works better than mod podge for a flexible seal. It bends without cracking when the foam moves. That stuff saved my last costume from getting wrecked.

Notice how often the right tool changes everything. We keep trying to make the basic stuff work for jobs it was never meant to do. Like using glue meant for paper on flexible foam, then getting mad when it cracks. Your fix shows we should match the material to the movement, not just the look. It's a small win that makes the whole project hold up. Why do we always learn this the hard way?
