Discovered that thrift store bedsheets are my new best friend for fabric-based cosplays
I needed a ton of flowy blue fabric for a water spirit costume and was ready to drop like $40 at Joann's. Then on a whim I checked the bedsheet aisle at Goodwill and found a king-size light blue sheet for $4. It was soft, already hemmed, and had exactly the drape I wanted. Saved me over $35 and it looks way better in pictures than cheap costume satin. Anyone else raiding the linen aisle for cosplay materials?

Thrift store sheets are honestly a pro move, but just make sure you check the fabric content. A lot of those cheap sheets are polyester blends that can look shiny and not breathe well, which sucks for costumes. Cotton percale or sateen sheets specifically give that natural drape you want without the plastic sheen.
